100% Grass-fed and Finished

by | Mar 21, 2024

Our animals are 100% grass-fed and finished however the diversity of pasture and not just grass, is so important in healthy animals; trees, shrubs, flowers, grasses, herbs and the list goes on. This particular icon encapsulates our focus on promoting a variety of feed types and species. Together they play a role in not only supplying our cattle with a range of nutrients and minerals, but this diversity is also imperative to ecosystem management and land regeneration. The diversity you can see above the ground, including all plants and all animals, is reflected below the ground in the diversity of soil microbes. Soil microbes are the silent workforce constantly providing nutrients and a suitable environment for plants to thrive in. They can regulate ground temperature, providing passages for water retention and break down rocks into available minerals for plants to absorb.

And soil health is directly related to human gut health and mental well-being. Mass produced food in a monoculture, that which has required a large amount of chemical intervention (both plants or animals) will not have the same level of microbes to that which is produced on healthy soil. Healthy soil = healthy animals = healthy people.

Grass-fed meat has a high nutrient density, the correct ratio of Omega 3:6 fatty acids for the human diet, and is a source of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), all of which are necessary for healthy human brain function. For a lot of passionate beef eaters, grass-fed provides a more nuanced and complex flavour profile.
